Fire fighters called to rescue seagull from netting

Crews used a ladder to reach the animal which was trapped approximately 25 feet up.

FIRE crews were called out to rescue a seagull trapped in netting in Barnstaple on Saturday afternoon.

The North Devon Animal Ambulance called the fire brigade for assistance rescuing the bird which was approximately 25 feet up.

Crews arrived at River View at around 5.25pm and used a 135 ladder to reach the seagull, which was then handed to the charity.
