Fire fighters called to fire at Holywell School in Tawstock

Fire was contained in an outbuilding containing a water heater.

Fire fighters were called out to Holywell School in Tawstock this morning (Tuesday) after reports of a smell of burning.

The two crews from Barnstaple arrived at the school at 7.30am to find smoke issuing from an outbuilding containing a water heater.

Fire fighters left the scene shortly after 9am and an investigation to determine the cause of the fire is ongoing.

A fire spokesman said there were concerns over parts of the main building which is thatched, but the fire was contained to the outbuilding.
