Fire crews tackle Swimbridge house and workshop blaze

Four crews in attendance to deal with blaze this afternoon (Saturday).

FOUR fire crews are working this afternoon (Saturday) to save a home and workshop on fire at Barnstaple Hill in Swimbridge.

Fire fighters believe the blaze started in the workshop and spread into the roof of the main property. Crews are currently at work stripping slate from roof, damping down and carrying out salvage to the property.

The alarm was raised at around 2pm and crews from Barnstaple, South Molton and Bideford are in attendance, plus the Command Support Unit from Ilfracombe.

It is not yet known what caused the fire, There are no reports of any injuries.
