Fire crews rescue ‘unstable’ slurry tanker

The fire fighters prevented disaster when the tanker carrying 8,500 litres of slurry lost a wheel.

FIRE crews were called to the rescue when a tanker containing 8,500 litres of slurry lost a wheel and became unstable near Holsworthy this afternoon (Mon).

The tanker ended up blocking Trewyn Road and crews from Holsworthy as well as a heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor attended the scene at 1.40pm.

Crews used heavy lifting bags to stabilise the vehicle, allowing for the slurry to be decanted.
