Fire crews called to ruptured gas main

Two fire engines attended reports of a gas leak after a car collided with a gas main.

FIRE CREWS were scrambled to Ilfracombe on Friday evening after a car collided with a gas main, rupturing it and causing a leak.

Two fire engines from Ilfracombe attended the scene in Wilder Road at around 5.25pm.

The crews stemmed the leak using an environmental pack and the Gas Board also attended.
