FIRE crews got the bird after carrying out a rescue in Ilfracombe yesterday (Saturday) afternoon.
Literally in fact, as they released a black bird which had become trapped in netting on top of the Olde Thatched Inn at Hillsborough.
The Ilfracombe crew used a 105 foot ladder and safety at height gear to reach the bird and made a hole in the netting, before watching it fly off 10 minutes later.
