FIRE crews were called to deal with a blaze at Woodford Bridge Hotel at Milton Damerel near Holsworthy yesterday (Monday) evening.Three engines from Holsworthy, Torrington and Bideford attended at 7.51pm and discovered a fire in the hotel laundry room, immediately calling for a second from Bideford to be sent to the scene.Two fire fighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel and with a covering jet, backed up by a thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan.The ground floor laundry was left severely damaged by fire and a further 70 per cent damage was inflicted by heat and smoke, the fire service said.The first and second floors also suffered some minor smoke damage.
