Two fire engines were called to the scene in Northam this morning.

TWO fire engines were called to a house in Chircombe Lane, Northam, after reports of a building fire this morning at around 10.50am.

On arrival, fire fighters from Appledore and Bideford found a small fire involving the window, which was out on arrival, and the building slightly smoke logged.

Fire crews inspected the property to ensure it was safe and using a thermal imaging camera detected the fire within the wall cavity.

They dampened it down using a hose reel jet. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
