FEWER people recorded positive breath tests during Devon and Cornwall Police's Christmas drink-drugs driving campaign.The Force ran the campaign from December 1 to January 1, during which3,784 breath tests were conducted in the two counties.Of these, 339 were positive. This was nine per cent of the total compared with nine-and-a-half per cent the previous year.The number of collisions reported during the campaign was also less, with 1,942 recorded, compared with 2,129 the previous year. But five per cent of breath tests in these incidents proved positive compared with four per cent the previous year.The next drink-drive campaign will be in the summer.
