FESTIVE fun for a pound is on offer at Chambercombe Manor in Ilfracombe on Saturday and Sunday, November 29 and 30, as attraction's Christmas Fayre returns following its success last year.Entry is free for children at the credit crunch beating event, which will see Father Christmas arriving at the beginning of each day in a horse drawn carriage. The event runs from 12 noon-6pm on Saturday and 11am-4pm on Sunday.The carriage will be providing rides around the manor grounds for youngsters whilst their parents can peruse the plenty of stalls laden with seasonal produce, toys, gifts, handicrafts, jewellery, soft furnishings and more.Santa's Grotto will be set up opposite the main house and a visit costs £3, including present.Visitors are invited to go along on either day in fancy dress - the theme is Tudor through to Victorian and there is a prize for the best dressed.There is live music on both days - on Saturday children from Ilfracombe Infants School will be singing carols and the Salvation Army band will play. The Red Petticoats dance troop will also perform. On Sunday the popular West Down Ceilidh Band will be playing.The Lady Jane Tea Rooms will be open and offering seasonal refreshments throughout.
