A popular dog-walking spot on the edge of Bideford has been used as an industrial fly tip over the Christmas and New Year holidays.The 4ft high mound of rubble, stone and bricks is believed to have been dumped off Mines Road on or around January 2.Andy Fenge, Torridge District Council's environmental crime officer, was alerted to the dumping by a concerned member of the public.Lead Member for Environmental Health Cllr Barry Parsons said: "Fly tipping is behaviour that is totally irresponsible, unnecessary, selfish, and potentially dangerous. We will pursue this matter to its rightful conclusion."An old red sofa, chairs corrugated iron and other rubbish has also been dumped off Mines Road.Anyone with information about these incidents should call Andy Fenge on (01237) 428734.
