Farmers' Markets are to make a reappearance on Bideford Quay this year, starting on Saturday of next week (April 11).They will then take place on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, excepting May 23, until the end of September.Producers from across Torridgeside will converge on The Quay next Saturday from 9am.Stalls laden with fresh fish, meat, vegetables, cheese, home-made cakes and many other goods will be on sale.Councillor James Morrish, Leader of Torridge District Council, said: "I am delighted that once again we are hosting the farmers' market and offering local producers an opportunity to display their goods."The business sector is very important to the area and the council is committed in its support."Culture and leisure officer Vikki Braddick said: "This year's markets hope to build on the success of previous events which were popular with both locals and holidaymakers and showcased the Torridge area's wonderful range of food and drink in the pleasant surroundings of Bideford's refurbished quayside."To book a pitch, call Vikki Braddick on (01237) 428736. or email vikki.braddick@torridge.gov.uk
