A pet falcon which got stuck in a tree caused a flap at Walland, Bucks Cross on Saturday evening.

The bird was trapped when its leather straps were caught around a branch.

When fire crews from Bideford arrived, they tried to use a ladder to rescue to falcon, but were unable to because the tree branches were too thin.

The aerial ladder platform from Barnstaple was called in and the bird was rescued safely.
