AN exhibition on local farming during the 1930s to 1960s opens at South Molton Museum next month. The retrospective is the result of a joint project by South Molton & District Archive and Local History Society, together with history societies from Filleigh, Brayford, Charles, George Nympton, Kings Nympton and Witheridge. The period covers WWII and the transition from horse to machine power. Farmers and farm workers have been interviewed and their memories recorded; photographs have been lent and scanned. "Each Society will have its own space to exhibit some of the material that it has collected and there will be a slide show of around 60 images," said Shirley Bray, on behalf of South Molton & District Archive & Local History Society. The exhibition runs throughout August.
