AN ex-policeman has been co-opted onto South Molton Town Council.Councillor David Goodman, 64, has filled the vacant position left by former South Molton Mayor, Andy Petherick.Mr Goodman was one of four candidates interviewed by fellow councillors earlier this month. He is set to attend his first council meeting tonight (Tuesday).He told the Gazette: "I've lived in South Molton since 1977 and have enjoyed my stay in the town and would like to be able to give something back."I'm looking forward to playing a part," he added.Among the items being discussed at this evening's full council meeting are the regeneration of the town centre, as well as land issues at Pathfields Business Park and Gullacombes housing development.For a report of the meeting, visit www.northdevongazette.co.uk tomorrow.
