OUTGOING Barnstaple Mayor Cllr Sue Haywood has presented a 41-inch flat screen television and DVD player to young people with severe physical and learning disabilities at Greenfields - her chosen charity during her second year as mayor.The respite and shared care facility was presented with the new equipment, along with a £4,800 cheque - money raised by Cllr Haywood for "I feel extremely privileged to have been able to raise money for special needs children during my two years as mayor," said Cllr Haywood, who has a special needs grandson herself and helped raise £4,000 for Pathfields last year."Special needs children don't get a lot but give you so much."Assistant manager Paul Jellicoe said that Greenfields was extremely grateful to the mayor for her support."This will really help to improve the quality of life for young people at Greenfields."Some of the money will be used to buy outside equipment such as a swing that young people here will be able to access.
