Events will mark National Parks Week

A picnic in the park and a seaside safari are two of the events being held on Exmoor to celebrate National Parks Week, which runs from July 27 until August 2.

The picnic is taking place at Wimbleball Lake on Sunday, July 26 between 2pm and 4pm. Everyone is welcome and there is no need to book. There will be games for the children and guided walks with a National Park Ranger.

A seaside safari is being held at Lynmouth on Monday, July 28 and a deer search at Simonsbath on July 28.

Basic map reading and navigation skills will be taught at a Navigation Day on Saturday, August 1 at the National Park Authority's Pinkery Outdoor Education Centre. Anyone interested should call (01398) 322292 for further details.
