An escapologist has penned a series of short adventure stories for children which also teach beach safety.
Former Britain’s Got Talent contestant Merlin Cadogan, from Northam, compiled the fictional tales during the last 10 years while on surfing trips in Indonesia.
Surf Stories from the Board Rack sees a young boy ask his father each night to tell him the story behind each of his many surfboards.
Merlin said: “In Indonesia, I used to go for a surf and come back and write these stories.
“The idea is they are great adventure tales, but they teach kids surf etiquette and beach safety too.
“I remember as a child my dad was a rally driver and used to tell me all these fantastic stories.
“When he died all those stories were lost and I thought, I don’t want that for my tales too.”
Surf Stories from the Board Rack is currently available on ebook – and soon paperback – from Amazon.
