IN November last year, the Gazette carried a story about a Barnstaple couple appealing for help to finish a piece of punch embroidery.A number of readers kindly contacted us to offer to finish the three-foot piece of embroidery depicting the Last Supper, that Hilda Jeffery, 73, is unable to complete after suffering a stroke.Unfortunately, work commitments mean the reader who agreed to do it is unable to complete the work.Hilda and husband Arthur still hope to find a reader who has the necessary skill - and time - to help."We'd love to get the piece finished and framed so that we can put it on the wall, alongside Hilda's other work that she has done over the years," said Arthur."If anyone can help us out, we'll pay them to finish it for us and we'll give them all the equipment they need to help them."Contact the Gazette on (01271) 341639 if you think you can help.
