Electrical fire at home in Bideford

Emergency services worked with a power company to put out fire in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to Old Town, Bideford, at 00.20am following reports of a fire at a house.

Two crews from Bideford were sent to the scene where the officer in charge confirmed there was a fire in an electrical unit at the property.

Western Power Distribution were called immediately.

Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera and a ladder to check the scene was safe before leaving it in the hands of the power company.
