FIRE fighters were called to a property in Hartland yesterday (Wednesday) after an 82-year-old woman suffered a fall and no one could get in to help her.

The crew from Hartland used small tools to gain entry to her home at Northgate just after 6am following a call from a neighbour concerned for her welfare.

A paramedic crew from the South Western Ambulance Service used a 4x4 vehicle to take the woman to the Accident and Emergency Department at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple, but no further information on her condition was available.
