Readers track Adam down to present him with cheque for children’s cancer charity

We know that Gazette readers are a generous lot – but this one has really blown us away.

In June, we published a story about the fundraising efforts of Barnstaple father-of-two Adam Clark.

During the last three years, Adam, who works as a sales manger at Roundswell-based Gold Coast, has embarked on a number of challenges for the charity Children with Cancer UK.

His previous fundraising efforts have included two marathons; three half-marathons; a seven-mile raft race; and charity boxing match.

After reading our story in the June 29 edition, an elderly couple was so touched by Adam’s commitment that they tracked him down and presented him with a cheque for £100 to pass on to the charity.

The couple have asked to remain anonymous but Adam has been in touch to express his thanks to them for their generosity for such a worthwhile cause.
