‘Easter bunny’ stolen in Barnstaple

Appeal for information after burglars take pet rabbit from garden

A Barnstaple family have been left distressed after callous thieves stole their pet rabbit at Easter.

Their pet was stolen from a secured hutch inside a shed in the back garden of their home in the Forches area, sometime overnight on Thursday and Friday.

Police investigating the burglary said the rabbit was quite distinctive, of the giant papillion breed, weighing about one-and-a-half stone and about a foot long. It also has quite distinctive markings.

They said the theft has had quite an effect on the family and appealed for anyone with any information to contact them on 08452 777444, quoting crime reference number CB/11/1184.
