Dual fuel car fire near Combe Martin

FOUR fire fighters donned breathing apparatus after a dual fuel vehicle burst into flame at Berry Down near Combe Martin on Saturday lunchtime.

Fire crews from Combe Martin and Ilfracombe plus the water foam carrier vehicle from Barnstaple were called to the incident just before 1pm.

The fire apparently started in the engine compartment of the car and the crews used two hose reel jets plus a covering jet to extinguish it.

Dual fuel vehicles are generally powered by petrol or LPG - liquid propane gas.
