THE electors of Ilfracombe have been urged to go along and have their say at the Annual Town Meeting tonight (Wednesday) in the Ilfracombe Centre.Hosted by Ilfracombe Town Council at 7pm, it is an opportunity for people to ask questions, bring issues or concerns to the attention of their councillors and show some support for their community.Local bed and breakfast owner John Waran attends the meeting every year and is keen to see as many people as possible there.He and wife Sue will be handing out leaflets in the High Street before the meeting to try and drum up support."It's important for local people to come along and see it," he said."There's some great ideas in the town and some great aspirations, such as the vision for the seafront, the harbour development, local hotel projects and programmes such as the Transform Street Reps."After reports from the Mayor, project working groups and committee chairmen, the meeting will be opened up to take questions and comments from those present."People have got to have their say and they should feel that is valuable," said Mr Waran.The Mayor, Councillor Geoff Fowler, added: "It's nice people like John are willing to participate and support their local council. We want to see more people taking an interest.
