THE annual ball for CLIC Sargent lived up to its theme of A Midsummer Night's Dream after raising 6,300 for the charity.

The event at Filleigh Village Hall was a sell out with 160 people enjoying canaps, dinner and dancing, with music from the North Devon Sinfonia Quartet followed by Theo Massos singing and acting as host.

An auction on the night, with lots kindly donated by local people and businesses, raised 2,000. The 6,300 collected overall will add to the North Devon CLIC Sargent fundraising total, rapidly reaching a million pounds since the branch was founded 25 years ago.

The organisers of the ball, Jacky Massos, Jo Dunbavin and Jenny Birch, were delighted with the success of the event and said they were grateful for the support of the many sponsors and to those that came and enjoyed the evening, giving so generously.
