BARNSTAPLE construction boss Chris Spear is warning children not to play on building sites during the Christmas holidays.

Mr Spear, area director of Morgan Ashurst, said playing on construction sites could lead to tragic consequences.

He said: "We're urging parents, teachers and members of the local community to help us educate young people that construction sites are extremely dangerous places.

"Everyone who works on our sites is put through ongoing, rigorous health and safety training and is kitted out in full protective clothing. Children who think sites look like fun places to explore are putting their lives at risk.
