Ilfracombe's May Day parade returns this Sunday with a new route.

This year the crowds of green-clad characters will gather at the Pier Tavern at 11.15am and make their way through St James Place to Wilder Road.

They will head along the High Street, go down Northfield Road and back to the 'clapping circle' by Capstone.

Organisers say the maypole is back this year - but with a twist - and the stilt walkers are returning too, together with plenty of new costumes.

As ever, as many people as possible are invited to wear something green or green face paint and join the parade.
