Police in North Devon are reminding people not to leave dogs in car during the hot weather. Braunton Police said they had received a lot of calls of this nature in recent weeks. A spokesman said: Our colleagues in Ilfracombe were called to a car park following concerns raised by members of the public regarding two distressed dogs in a car. Officers gained access to the vehicle by breaking a window and the dogs were removed. Dogs die in hot cars, if required we will take necessary action to ensure their welfare, anyone causing a dog to suffer can face prosecution.
