Don’t give false hope
SIR – Your correspondent David Scott’s comments concerning his wife’s entitlement to pension age are inaccurate.
Even if she was born three months earlier, in December 1953, she still would not have qualified to draw her state pension at 60. I was born in July 1953; I’ve worked and contributed all my life as well, and when the “goalposts” were moved by the last Government, my state pension age was adjusted to 63 years and four months.
Please check your facts before printing as you could give “false hope” to others.
