ONE person was arrested at the scene and another discovered by a police dog asleep in a nearby hedge after a car ended up in a ditch in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police arrived at the incident on the A3124 at Woolleigh Cross, Torrington, at 2.40am after being called by one of the Vauxhall Vectra's occupants.It appeared the other had wandered from the scene in freezing temperatures of minus four degrees.A dog and handler tracked for a quarter of a mile along the road, over and bank and fence and discovered a man sleeping in a hedge.Dawn Van-Emmenis, aged 28, has been charged with driving with excess alcohol and no insurance.Steven Bowes, 40, was charged with failing to provide a specimen and no insurance. Both are from Bideford.Both have been bailed to appear before North Devon Magistrates on January 30.
