Find out how to discover your family history using recently released records at a special presentation in the Pollyfield Centre, Bideford, on Saturday, November 21.

The North Devon group of the Devon Family History Society is hosting a visit by historian Myko Clelland from online search website

From 11.30am he will be talking about the 1939 Register, new records now online and the only new information now available until the release of the next census in 2051.

After the talk people can chat to society members for help and advice on researching their own family history.

A second talk, Oakum and Stones by Brian O’ Leary, will take place at 2pm. It is an insight into the prospects for poor Victorians.

There will be a raffle with the chance to win books and a first prize of Myko’s time for four hours to help look into your family tree.

Non members are very welcome.
