Caravan towing could be ‘difficult’ for towing vehicles and outdoor activities disrupted due to strong winds today (Monday).

Anyone heading to North Devon towing caravans has been urged to stay safe in strong winds.

The Met Office has issued a weather warning from 6am today (Monday) until 9pm tonight for the region,

A chief forecaster for the Met Office said: “Winds are already strong in many places though Sunday.

“However, west to south-westerly winds are expected to increase further during Monday.

“Inland gusts of 40-45 mph are possible, whilst gusts may exceed 50 mph along the north coasts of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset, and also Bristol Channel coasts of south Wales.”

Forecasters have warned of ‘minor disruption’ to outdoor activities during the summer holidays, and difficult driving conditions for towing vehicles.
