DFS will be opening its doors to customers for the first time at Anchorwood Retail Park this weekend.

The store will be opened by mayor Ian Roome at 9am, completing the trio of retail units.

DFS will sit between Iceland Food Warehouse and Next, both of which opened at the start of the month.

To celebrate the grand event, the store will also be welcoming a number of VIP guests including Mayor of Barnstaple, Cllr Ian Roome, and representatives from the local British Heart Foundation store.

DFS Barnstaple will be continuing the celebrations the following weekend with treats in store for customers together with a selfie competition offering the chance to win their favourite sofa.

Stuart Liddiard, store manager at DFS Barnstaple, said: “We couldn’t be happier to be opening our newest store in Barnstaple.

“It’s a fantastic location and the store will be a great addition to the local retail offering for customers.

“At DFS we’ve been making furniture for almost 50 years and are looking forward to helping surrounding customers find their perfect sofa.”

Mr Roome added: “It is a great pleasure to be asked to open DFS in Barnstaple.

“This will create more jobs in our town and offer the public even more retail choice. It is nice to know that the store will be supporting the British Heart Foundation charity too.”
