Police are appealing for information after a stone was thrown at a driver in Braunton.
Four boys, aged 11-13 years old, were walking from the village centre towards Saunton Park on Friday at around 3.40pm when one of them threw a stone at a passing tractor driver’s windscreen.
A spokeman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Fortunately the stone didn’t shatter the windscreen and the shock didn’t make the driver veer into oncoming traffic but the consequences of what could have happened are alarming particularly as this was the location of a serious accident a few months ago.
“Enquiries are ongoing but we are asking parents of boys of this age group who live in the Saunton park area who take this route home from school to please have a conversation with them.
“They might know who it was but at least a warning of the dangers should prevent this from happening again.”
The boys were wearing Braunton Academy uniforms and were close to Saunton Road Studios when the incident happened.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote log number 921 for October 13.
