Police are appealing for witnesses after a ‘very shaken’ elderly couple were targeted in an aggravated burglary in Forches last night (Saturday).

Three men broke into the Gould Road home of a couple in their 90s at around 7.30pm before stealing money and attacking a man in the street as they fled the scene.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “An elderly couple, in their 90s, were awoken by three males who had broken into their home. Thinking they had stolen money they then made off.

“The suspects then came across another male in the street and proceeded to attack him with a baton. They then fled the area in a dark-coloured car.

“The elderly couple were not injured but obviously very shaken by this incident.
