A new café to support people living with dementia is launching at North Devon District Hospital.
The first dementia support café will take place on Wednesday August 15 at the hospital’s Raleigh Galley restaurant from 2pm until 4pm.
As well as having tea, coffee and cakes, the café will offer people living with dementia, their carers and relatives a place to talk with others in similar circumstances.
The support café is being organised by Angela Walter, the first hospital-based Admiral Nurse in Devon.
Angela said: “Our dementia support café will be a safe, social and welcoming environment where people living with dementia and those who care for them can talk to others with a shared understanding and shared experiences.
“Everyone is welcome, come and have some tea, cake and a chat.”
The café will continue to be held on the first Wednesday of every month from 2pm-4pm and the third Wednesday of every month from 4pm-6pm.
