Police are appealing after offender tampered with ‘lifesaving’ equipment from recreation grounds.

A defibrillator has been damaged during a burglary in Berrynarbor this week.

On Tuesday plants were killed and shed doors damaged at the break in at the recreation grounds at Pitt Hill.

A spokesman for Ilfracombe Police said: "More worryingly though, an offender has chosen to tamper with and remove the defibrillator.

"Defibrillators are vital pieces of lifesaving equipment, tampering and removing one when not required is unnecessarily selfish and could prevent it helping someone in need."

Ilfracombe Police are keen to speak with anyone with information regarding this crime.
