James Raffle celebrates 45 years as a Dartington Glass Blower having started his career at Dartington in 1958. He is now one of the longest serving members of staff.

Nine members of staff were awarded long service awards by managing director Neil Hughes during an informal event held in the Ginspiration Bar.

James said: “It is real honour to be celebrating over 45 years of service alongside such a fantastic workforce.

“Over the years I have worked on many exciting projects and I am proud to have been able to contribute to the growing Dartington story.”

In addition to James, Sue French, visitor centre and retail manager, and Pam Montgomery, Denby shop manager, both celebrated 25 years.

Meanwhile 15 years of service has been celebrated by James Walker, customer services and offsite retail manager; Ellie Vanstone, tour guide; Linda Tucker, Pavilion café supervisor; Dave Hewitt, engineer/mould maker; Jon Broom, engineer/maintenance department; and Sarah Matthews, corporate administrator.

Sue said: “No two days are the same here and over the years and I have worked with so many talented people in this business – I am always learning from them.

“I think it’s rare in this day and age to work for a company that home grows its work force and I’m very proud to have been a part of a British company for so long.”
