FOUR teenage dancers from Torrington have won prizes for their school and themselves in a Healthy Schools competition.Pictured left, friends Kayleigh Newcombe and Sophie Newton, 14, Terri Adams and Jess Lavery, 13, are all members of local cheerleader and baton twirling clubs and the Street Crew dance group.They took part in a competition to produce a dance routine to a set piece of music and have been declared winners after filming their performance on DVD.Great Torrington School will now receive a plasma screen TV and a portable DVD player and the girls themselves will share a selection of DVDs. They are also to be filmed for the Internet.Dance teacher Charlotte Broad said the television would be a valuable help for work in the school gym, enabling them to view professional work and choreography.
