Team of three cycle 300 miles for the North Devon Hospice.
THREE cyclists have braved a 300-mile adventure this weekend to raise money for the North Devon Hospice.
Gary Roberts, 40, Keith Daniels, 49 and Phil Beasant, 44, set off from Actavis in Barnstaple at 9am on Friday and returned at 4pm on Monday.
The three employees of the factory cycled around the coasts of Devon, raising more than £1,000 so far.
“One of our colleagues recently passed away and he used the hospice, so it has a personal meaning for us doing this challenge,” said Phil.
“We’ve done the Devon Coast-to-Coast for the hospice for the last two years so we decided to do something bigger.”
Gary said the group were taking their inspiration from Bradley Wiggins winning the Tour de France, calling their mission the ‘Tour de Devon’.
“The North Devon Hospice is one of our nominated charities at Actavis so it’s important to us to support it,” he said.
