Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a hit-and-run incident in Bideford.

A cyclist from the Bideford area was knocked from his bike by a Peugeot 206 in Kingsley Road at around 11.45pm on Wednesday, July 18.

The driver failed to stop after the collision, which happened at the traffic lights outside Morrisons.

The victim, a 48-year-old man, is still in hospital with serious chest injuries as a result of the fall from his bike. The driver is now being sought by police.

The roads policing team in Barnstaple is appealing for any information to help them identify the driver.
