NORTH Devon Council has gained national recognition for the way its staff handle calls from the public.
Its Customer Services team has been awarded the Customer Service Excellence Standard, which replaces the former Charter Mark award.
Council Leader Councillor Des Brailey, who is responsible for Good and Improving Services, said: "This recognition is confirmation to our customers that no matter how they choose to contact us, whether by phone, email, through our website or in person, our dedicated team will provide them with an excellent service.
" However despite this, the council will not be complacent. We will continue to look at how we can further improve our work with our customers, striving to get it right first time, every time."
