The MS Prinsendam cruise liner will still be calling in at Ilfracombe tomorrow (Sunday) but there is a question mark over the weather.
It is hoped all will be able to go ahead as planned but there is uncertainty whether it will be possible for the 800-passenger ship to put people ashore.
The Holland America Line vessel is due to leave Holyhead in North Wales shortly to begin its journey to Ilfracombe.
Harbourmaster Rob Lawson said the ship’s captain had said he still intends to stop at Ilfracombe and the Prinsendam is expected to drop anchor off the harbour at around 7am tomorrow.

South easterly 5 or 6 winds at first, veering westerly or south westerly 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8.
If the passengers can come ashore, coaches will be waiting to take them on various excursions around North Devon.
But 434 people are planning to stay in Ilfracombe, according to the latest figures tweeted by Ilfracombe Harbour.
There will be live music from local musicians on the pier, plus a mobile tourist information unit to greet visitors and direct them to sites around the town.
The Mayor and Town Crier will also be on hand, as will the ‘Ilfracombe Ambassadors’ in distinct high visibility jackets, ready to chat to people and offer information or directions.
The ship is scheduled to depart for her next port of call, Guernsey, at 3pm, but it is unknown if this will be affected by the weather.
