Crews fight toilet fire

The cause of a fire in a public toilet cubicle is being investigated by the police.

TWO fire appliances were called to extinguish a fire in a public toilet last night (Thur).

The fire crews found a small fire in a cubicle in the public conveniences on Wilder Road, Ilfracombe.

The fire engines from Ilfracombe station arrived at the scene around 9.35pm, and extinguished fire using two breathing apparatus wearers and one hose reel jet.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the fire service and the police.
