THE challenge has gone out to create a new Combe Martin carol for a festive competition.

Budding composers are invited to put their tune and words to paper, CD or cassette, with a chance to hear it sung at the annual carolling get together hosted by Shammick Acoustic at the village's Castle Inn on December 20.

The closing dates for entries is November 14 and the carol theme may be religious or secular - but obviously relating to Christmas!

Entries can be delivered to Shammick Acoustic at 4, Trafalgar Arcade, Castle Street, Combe Martin or the Pack O' Cards public house.
