FOLK duo Craig & Willoughby have had to cancel their gig tomorrow (Saturday) at the Pack O cards in Combe Martin - but accomplished performer Wendy Arrowsmith has stepped in to take the gig at short notice.

The concert, hosted by Shammick Acoustic, will see the artist perform a mixture of traditional songs, particularly from her native Scotland, and original material, some of which have won song-writing competitions.

Usually accompanying herself on guitar, she has also been known to use whistles, bodhran, mandolin and accordion - so she'll keep her audience guessing!

According to one reviewer, she handles traditional material with subtlety and insight, and her own songs cover a range of human experience, with some great stories, poignant moments and some very fine melodies.

Her easy-going style and gently humour, combined with her excellent voice, make her popular wherever she goes. She will be joined by husband Paul, who plays banjo and sings.

Unfortunately Cathryn Craig has been unable to return from the United States in time for the gig, after a family bereavement.
