Two cows were rescued from a slurry pit at a farm in Shebbear yesterday (Monday) morning.
Fire fighters were called to Wootton Farm in Shebbear to rescue two cows trapped in a slurry pit yesterday (Monday).
Fire fighters from Holsworthy, together with a specialist rescue team from Barnstaple, attended at 7.30am.
Upon arrival crews confirmed the cows were trapped in the pit, which measured 14m by 3m deep.
They got to work making the area safe, and setting up to gain access to the slurry pit with one boat.
By 10am fire fighters confirmed the cows had been safely removed using on-site machinery, strops and lines.
