A BARNSTAPLE couple have been awarded the Town Cup in recognition of their outstanding dedication towards a special local charity.Ray and Kathy Hayles have been described as "going beyond the call of duty" for the Children's Hospice South West, an organisation that offers respite and end of life care for life-limited children and their families. For the last year, Ray has volunteered to do the banking, while Kathy helps out on the reception at Little Bridge House, Fremington."They are always willing to turn their hand to anything requested and can always be relied upon to do what is asked of them and indeed, even more," said hospice co-founder Eddie Farwell. "I couldn't be happier for them to be receiving the Barnstaple Town Cup. "Not only have Ray and Kathy both consistently supported the charity right up until this present day, but were influential in gaining a considerable amount of financial support when the hospice first began."They have always fund-raised tirelessly and volunteered their services for a number of other important functions which the charity carries out.
