This years North Devon Foodfest is being billed as the biggest ever. The ninth annual event takes place in Barnstaple Pannier Market on Sunday, October 16, with entertainment and extra seating also planned for Butchers Row. Organised by Barnstaple Town Centre Management with support from North Devon Council, it will showcases local food businesses selling everything from cheese and ales to local meat and fresh produce. Five of the areas best chefs, including two-Michelin-starred chef, Michael Caines will be live on the main stage at the Queens Theatre. Chef, writer and presenter Tim Maddams, star of the River Cottage TV series, will also be hosting a pop-up restaurant at the Queens Theatre on Saturday 15 October. Barnstaple Town Centre Manager, Hannah Harrington, said: Well have more than 100 stalls at the event, which will offer something for everyones tastes. I hope visitors will also make time to check out the rest of the town centre, which will be alive with activity and buzzing with atmosphere. Councillor Pat Barker, the district councils executive member for economic regeneration, said: There will be more stalls than ever before at this years Foodfest, showcasing some of the fantastic food and drink producers we have, right here in North Devon. Also, with entertainment and seating planned for Butchers Row, there will be even more opportunity and space for people to come and enjoy the day and sample the mouthwatering delights on offer, whilst supporting our local economy at the same time. Foodfest runs from 10am to 3.30pm, with free entry to the pannier market and the Queens Theatre Tickets are still available for Tim Maddams pop-up restaurant.
